I just got this beautiful photo from my friend Gretchen who picked the last harvest of the year at garden we worked on together.  It looks like there’s some good makings for one more pie!

Our living wall is blooming like crazy right now!

Once done flowering, those individual plants will die and I’ll plug in the gaps with new sedums.

I’m also really loving how the steel frame is rusting; it complements our dark brown fence so nicely!

Herb Locker

To commemorate the 2011 growing season, we have some exciting news: the Fresh Digs Shop is open!

The Fresh Digs Shop is a place where we sell home and garden furnishings. Our main concern is bringing great design into the garden. We only sell products that meet our standards of quality and sustainability. Everything you find will be useful, well-made, long-lasting, and of course, stylish! Many of our products will be limited edition, reclaimed, or made-to-order, so our inventory will vary. But you can guarantee that whenever we do have something to sell, it’ll be awesome!

Brandi installing pavers

Over the past few months we have been kicking around ideas about how to work with our clients to design their gardens, and then actually get them BUILT at a reasonable cost. We’ve come up with the something called DIY Construction Coaching. The way it works is this: at the start of construction, we work closely with our clients to teach them the skills necessary to install anything complex, such as sand-set pavers, fences, and basic retaining walls.

Over at the Pantry at Delancey, our cost-conscious yet highly motivated clients, provided us with the perfect testing ground for this concept.
